Where Am I After 2 Years?

So it has been almost 2 years since I posted on here. I have to say, I am not much closer. Since that time, I have learned Python (far more in depth) and plenty of other things. A month or so ago, I started getting interested in Final Fantasy 7 again, and thought I would start work on an importer.

I started this last week, and I have to thank a commenter here to persuade me to finally start trying to work on this project. I have posted some videos on Youtube as to document my progress, and the latest installment of the script allows for materials to be loaded.

It started off by just loading vertexes, and then to faces, and then materials. But I have recently been going though and trying to upgrade to windows 8, and it seems my entire script has been salvageable because the external hard drive I was using has gone bad, so I will have to rewrite the script from the ground up, but on the plus side, I can restructure the program to better accommodate what I had in mind for future features.

Once I do this, I will start work on a quick add-on so you don’t have to keep running the script from the text editor, but instead using the file > import menus. Once I have support for .p files, I will release the script, and then start work on an exporter for .p files.

Development planes from there on out are still ambiguous, but I will have to figure all that out later. I might as well put my latest video of the script up here to show my work on it, and I hope to post something again soon. (And I am so very sorry for the massive amount of noise in the video!)

New way of downloading (and a new new downloading page in the making)

Well I have not really put any new content up. So today I am going to put 73 new character models up for download; they will be all subcharacters. I will also be trying out a new way for the downloads to work. I have been using Mediafire to host the files, but I am going to try to use my computer, so you wont have to wait for the files, and there will be no ads :D

I will remake the Download page yet again. This time, all links will be replaced with new ones, it will be a direct download. I will update the pages with almost 200 new files (maybe more), including weapons, chacters, items, and backgrounds :)

And as a thanksgiving present, here is a video i made a while ago, using the models I have extracted :D

I have kinda stopped

I guess I have really stopped doing this. I think it was because of copyrights and all that crap. but I still have 120 files i will probably post. But I can’t promis anymore work will happen on this project. it was defiantly fun, but I am working on a game competition right now, so not much would get done anyways, and then after that i am beginning to make a movie for final fantasy 7 which i will probably link to on here.

Starting over

So after long thought process, I have decided to start the project over.  The reason I am doing this, is so that I can be more organized, and I now know how to extract the models better.  I now can extract much quicker and export quicker.  So this will set me back a little bit but not much.

So I am going to finally extract everything

I am extracting every field model, I found a much more efficient way to do this. and this is all while the site is inactive and viewable by the public.

Its been a LONG time

So its been  a REALLY long time since ive updated a lot of stuff. I have been doing a lot more work in school and have not been able to focus on just this project. (in fact, I have a test tomarrow :( ) but The year is winding down with 14 days left. The whole last week is gonna be finals, so I wont be able to do anything durning that time. WOW im rambling

Anyways main points:

I have started extracting EVERY single battle model

I have to still convert them (I will only do that as I need them)

And then I have to put them in blender files.

There is still a lot of work but I am still going and hopefully I will have some awesome .Blends up in a week or so.

Anyways, I hope to get more involved in the project over summer

Thanks whoever reads this and keeps up :)

Thank You

Today, I just got my 200th  person to view this site. Thank you. That is without advertising it on sites like blenderartists.com Thank you all who have taken even the slightest interest in this Project, or I would not even continue.

Thank You
